Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
1. Introduction
Latqo is committed to handling your personal information with care and transparency. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and what choices you have. By using the Latqo platform, you consent to the practices described here.
If you have questions about any aspect of this policy, you can reach us through the support section of the app.
2. Information We Collect
We only collect information that is genuinely needed to operate the platform. Below is a precise account of what we collect, how, and why.
Account registration (all users)
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a password (stored securely in hashed form — we never store your plain-text password). We also record your role on the platform (Client or Provider).
Providers
Providers supply additional details when setting up their profile: phone number, service category or categories, service address, and service radius. We store a flag indicating whether you are currently active on the platform. When a Provider purchases a subscription or sponsored ad, payment details are processed entirely by our payment processor (Paystack). We store only the card brand, last four digits, and expiry returned by Paystack — we never receive or store your full card number.
Clients
Clients do not enter or provide payment details on Latqo. Payments for services that Clients commission from Providers happen directly between those parties, outside of the platform.
Quote requests, messages, and reviews
When you submit or respond to a quote request, we store the service category, your written description, the location associated with the request, and the status of the request and its responses. Messages sent through in-app chat are stored so both parties can access their conversation. Ratings and reviews you submit are retained and linked to your account.
Location data
Location is central to how Latqo works — it enables Clients to find nearby Providers and Providers to define their service area. We collect location in two ways: through explicit address input in forms, or via your browser's geolocation API when you allow it. Your browser will always ask for permission before sharing your coordinates — we do not access your location without that permission. Location coordinates associated with searches may be logged alongside the search query for platform improvement purposes.
Push notification tokens
If you opt in to push notifications, your browser registers a push subscription with our notification service. We store the subscription endpoint and its associated encryption keys — these are required by the Web Push standard to deliver notifications securely to your specific device and browser. You can revoke notification permission at any time in your browser settings.
Analytics (via Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how people use the platform — for example, which pages are visited and how users navigate the app. GA4 is a third-party service operated by Google. It collects standard analytics data including pages visited, session duration, approximate geographic region, browser type, and operating system. This data is processed by Google under their own privacy policy. We do not use this data to identify individual users for advertising purposes.
Latqo itself does not directly log your browser type, operating system, device identifiers, or IP address at the application layer. These details may be incidentally captured in standard server and infrastructure logs maintained by our hosting providers — but this is passive infrastructure logging, not intentional collection by Latqo.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to operate and improve the Latqo platform. Specifically, this means creating and managing your account, matching Clients with relevant Providers based on location, service category, and availability, and enabling communication between the two parties. For Providers, we use billing information to process subscription payments and manage sponsored ad placements.
We also use data to send you notifications about quotes, messages, and account activity; to analyse usage patterns so we can improve the platform; and to detect and prevent fraud, abuse, fake listings, and policy violations. Where required, we process data to comply with legal obligations.
4. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share information only in the circumstances described below.
Between users on the platform: Provider profile information — such as name, service category, ratings, and approximate distance — is visible to Clients searching for services. More specific contact details may be shared as part of the quoting process.
Third-party service providers: We share data with trusted processors — including our payment gateway (Paystack), cloud infrastructure providers, and Google Analytics — strictly as necessary to operate the platform. These parties are bound by their own terms and may only use your data to perform services on our behalf.
Legal requirements: We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Latqo, our users, or the public.
Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you if this occurs and your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your data within a reasonable period. However, we may retain certain information for longer where required by law or for legitimate purposes such as fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or enforcing our agreements.
6. Cookies and Local Storage
Latqo's own application does not use cookies to track you. We use your browser's local storage only to remember whether you have dismissed the notification permission prompt — this is a UI preference, not personal data. Authentication is handled via tokens in request headers, not cookies.
Google Analytics 4, which we use for usage analytics, sets its own cookies in your browser to track sessions and page views. These are governed by Google's privacy policy. You can block or delete GA4 cookies through your browser settings or a browser extension that blocks analytics tracking — doing so will not affect your ability to use the Latqo platform.
7. Security
We take data security seriously and apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information. These include HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, secure password hashing, and access controls that limit who within Latqo can view your data. Payment details are handled exclusively by Paystack and are never stored on Latqo's servers.
No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorised access will never occur. If you suspect your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately so we can act quickly.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have rights in relation to your personal data. These may include the right to access the personal information we hold about you, the right to correct inaccurate or incomplete information, and the right to request deletion of your data. You may also have the right to object to or restrict certain types of processing, to request a portable copy of your data, or to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us through the support section of the app. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe.
9. Children's Privacy
Latqo is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will terminate their account and delete associated data promptly. If you believe a minor has registered on our platform, please let us know.
10. Third-Party Links
The platform may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties. Before providing personal information to any external site, we encourage you to review their privacy policy.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the platform evolves or as legal requirements change. When we make significant changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notification. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
12. Contact
If you have questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please reach out through the support section of the app or via our help centre.
