Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: March 2026
1. Introduction
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to everyone who uses the Latqo platform — Clients who submit quote requests and Providers who list services and respond to those requests. It defines the boundaries of acceptable conduct on Latqo and describes what happens when those boundaries are crossed.
This policy is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service. By using Latqo, you agree to comply with it. We have written this policy specifically for the Latqo platform — not as generic boilerplate — so that the rules are clear and directly relevant to how the platform works.
2. Permitted Service Categories
Latqo is designed for everyday home, business, and personal service needs. Providers are welcome to list services in any legitimate category that is legal, safe, and clearly described. Examples of permitted categories include — but are not limited to — the following:
- Home maintenance and repairs — plumbing, electrical, roofing, painting, tiling, carpentry, and general handyman work
- Cleaning services — domestic cleaning, deep cleaning, carpet cleaning, pest control, and garden services
- Construction and renovation — building, alterations, waterproofing, fencing, paving, and property upgrades
- Appliance and technical services — appliance repair, HVAC, solar installation, security systems, and CCTV
- Transport and logistics — moving services, courier delivery, vehicle transport, and furniture removal
- Professional and business services — accounting, bookkeeping, graphic design, web development, photography, and tutoring
- Health and wellness — personal training, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and other licensed health services
- Events and creative services — catering, event planning, music, DJ services, and décor
- Pet services — pet grooming, dog walking, and pet sitting
- Automotive services — panel beating, tyre fitting, car servicing, and detailing
This list is illustrative, not exhaustive. If your service is lawful, genuine, and honestly described, it is welcome on Latqo. If you are unsure whether your category is permitted, contact us before listing.
3. Prohibited Service Categories
Providers may not list, advertise, or offer any of the following types of services on Latqo, regardless of how they are described or packaged.
Illegal services
Any service that is prohibited by South African law or any other applicable law or regulation. This includes services that require a licence or permit you do not hold.
Fraudulent or deceptive services
Services designed to mislead, deceive, or defraud Clients or third parties. This includes services that misrepresent what will be delivered, services priced with hidden undisclosed fees, and any service that is fundamentally not what it claims to be.
Dangerous or harmful services
Services that create an unreasonable risk of physical harm, property damage, or significant injury to people or animals. Safety obligations are the Provider's responsibility, and services that are inherently dangerous without proper qualification and safety measures are prohibited.
Adult services
Escort services, adult entertainment, companionship services, or any sexually explicit or suggestive service. These categories are not permitted on Latqo under any description.
Financial and investment services
Investment advice, financial lending, Forex or cryptocurrency trading schemes, debt collection, or any activity that constitutes a regulated financial service. If your service involves handling, managing, or advising on other people's money, it is likely prohibited here.
Weapons-related services
The sale, modification, unlicensed servicing, or distribution of firearms, ammunition, or other weapons. This does not apply to clearly lawful, licensed gunsmith or security services operating in full compliance with applicable law.
Drugs and controlled substances
The supply, distribution, delivery, or facilitation of illegal drugs, controlled substances, or any product that is regulated or prohibited by law.
Fake or fraudulent documents
Creating, selling, or supplying falsified identity documents, academic certificates, permits, references, or any other fraudulent official document. This prohibition applies regardless of the stated purpose.
Impersonation services
Services that involve impersonating a person, business, government body, or official, whether for entertainment, fraud, or any other purpose.
Spam and lead abuse
Mass messaging campaigns, unsolicited bulk outreach, lead generation for resale, or any service built on contacting people without their consent. Latqo is not a lead-generation platform for off-platform commercial activities.
4. Prohibited Conduct
Beyond prohibited services, the following conduct is not permitted on Latqo for any user, regardless of account type.
Dishonesty and misrepresentation
You must not post false, misleading, or inaccurate listings, profiles, or quotes. You must not misrepresent your identity, qualifications, licences, or business. Impersonating another user, business, or Latqo itself is prohibited. Providing fake reviews, artificially inflating ratings, or offering incentives in exchange for positive reviews are also violations of this policy.
Quote and platform abuse
Clients must only submit genuine quote requests for services they actually intend to pursue. Submitting fake, test, or bulk quote requests with no genuine intent is prohibited. Using the platform to harvest Provider contact details for unsolicited marketing or to generate leads for resale is also prohibited.
Harassment and abusive communication
You must not harass, threaten, intimidate, or abuse other users — whether through messages, reviews, or any other platform feature. Sending unsolicited bulk messages is not permitted. All communication on Latqo must be conducted professionally and in good faith.
Technical abuse and security violations
You must not upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or software designed to harm the platform or its users. Attempting to gain unauthorised access to any account, system, or data is prohibited. Scraping or systematically extracting data from the platform without Latqo's written permission is not allowed, nor is using automated bots or scripts to interact with the platform in any way.
Account abuse
Creating multiple accounts to circumvent a suspension, restriction, or any platform rule is prohibited. You must not share your account credentials with third parties or allow others to use your account. Manipulating the platform to gain an unfair advantage over other users — whether through technical means, false information, or coordinated behaviour — is not permitted.
Intellectual property violations
You must not copy, reproduce, or distribute Latqo's content without our written permission. You must not upload or share content that infringes the intellectual property rights of third parties. Using another user's profile content, images, or materials without their permission is also prohibited.
5. Enforcement
Latqo monitors the platform for conduct and content that may violate this policy. We also accept reports from users who encounter policy violations. When we determine that a violation has occurred, we will take action proportionate to the seriousness of the violation.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include removing or editing offending content, issuing a warning to your account, temporarily restricting or suspending access to the platform or specific features, or permanently terminating your account. In serious cases — including fraud, illegal activity, or threats to the safety of users — we may report the matter to relevant law enforcement or regulatory authorities.
We aim to act fairly and proportionately. Where appropriate, we will notify you of any action taken and give you a reasonable opportunity to respond.
6. Reporting Illegal or Disturbing Ads
Latqo takes the safety of its platform seriously. If you come across an ad listing that appears illegal, fraudulent, harmful, offensive, or otherwise in violation of this policy, you are encouraged to report it immediately through the support section of the app.
When reporting an ad, please include as much detail as possible — such as the listing name, a description of your concern, and why you believe it violates our policies. All reports are reviewed in good faith and treated confidentially. We will take appropriate action, which may include removing the listing, suspending the Provider's account, or referring serious matters to relevant authorities.
Reporting is voluntary, but we strongly encourage Clients and Providers alike to flag anything that seems wrong. A safer platform benefits everyone on it.
7. Contact
If you have questions about this policy or would like to appeal an enforcement decision, please contact us through the support section of the app or via our help centre.
